Political donations are regulated by Elections Canada. Here’s a quick breakdown of the annual limits, tax credits, and who can donate.

• Maximum donation: $1,775 per year to a local EDA

• National party limit: $1,775 per year 

• Total possible contribution: $3,550 annually (combined)

• Maximum tax credit: $650

• Eligibility: Donations must be made by Canadian citizens or permanent residents
